BMW
Motorrad's way showing off the new 2010 models .. alas the goodies and
food were exclusive to press and certain VIPs .. we, the common bikers did
not get anything saved for a few left over bottled water on the table. We
weren't even sure they were meant for us! The supposedly chance to test out
the S1000R at the track was scheduled at 4pm even we arrived fairly early in
the morning. To wait almost 5 hours for a go on the bike was insane
and silly. generally,. it was big let-down to some BMw Motorrad owners and
bikers alike ... to make an expensive all out marketing do but still falling
short of make all happy was a big waste. In America or Europe, a Press
launch is never mixed with a Public launch. If they are to be done together,
the organiser should make sure all are equal in some way. We are not greedy,
but to make nice food and drinks visible but off limits to non-listed guests
is poor taste. Come-on, we are well known for our hospitality, and to do
that (can see but don't touch) isn't us. I am their customer and I
personally felt like gate-crashing into some party
instead of sulking
further, we left for lunch @ Dengkil which was just a few minutes away
.. thankfully, we had some decent lunch to top off the day..
and to Ivan,
welcome back !
