Titi Kong Sunday Ride

22 Feb 2010

Happy Chinese New Year to All.. May you be blessed with plenty of real dough to sign that dotted line for a new bike ..new DOHC GS ?

The ride to Titi Kong via Seremban was chosen again as the expected heavy 'balik kerja' traffic on highways might spoilt any brisk fun riding. David aka Mr Cordura, back in Malaysia for CNY, suggested we detoured to his favourite beef noodle stall in Seremban. The original stall is still located at the city's central wet market. The market scene on the day was totally chaotic with with shoppers making last minute preparation for the traditional prayers to honour the Jade Emperor's birthday which is celebrated on the stroke of mid-night on the 9th day of CNY.  It been a  tradition for hundred of years  especially for the Taoist Hokkien community to pray to the Jade Emperor for good luck and good health. Anyway, we did not get our noodles at the wet market as there were simply too many people and virtually no proper parking for our bikes. Then again, the main factor was probably the 'wet market' smell that was simply too over-powering. David' youngest son, Christian was seen frantically waiving his hands over his helmet to clear the foul air ..

Thankfully, David managed to sum up his 30 odd years  of old memory to track down the beef noodle's sister outlet in downtown Seremban. Never mind the taste was not exactly as good as the ones served at the wet market but given eating in a clean restaurant minus the foul wet market smell more than made up for the minus.

We resumed our ride to Kuala Klawang and Titi Kong with  David trying to reach home by 12pm. His daughter was scheduled to take the train back to Kampar at 1pm. The ride was a blast with surprisingly little traffic on the road. We made an unscheduled stop shortly after Semenyih Dam-Ulu Langat turn. Apparently, a rider on an Aprilia Tuono took his bike straight into the ravine. The bike was quite badly smashed up with the rider unable to get out of the ravine due to his injuries. I guessed this would happen when the biker treated public road like a race track. Unexpectedly, we bumped into Fadzil who was riding with Sunny & gang. We resumed our ride back home as help was already secured and the rider was in no immediate danger.

Alas, David missed seeing his daughter off .. oh well .. typical of bagsters.. we are never on time on rides
